Cherry Hill Dog Bite Lawyers: Two Dog Attacks in Three Weeks for NJ Town
May 16, 2016
Two vicious dog attacks in three weeks have Nutley, New Jersey officials warning dog owners that they will be held responsible for the actions of their pets. On April 15, 2016 a pit bull attacked a small dog who was walking with its owner near the intersection of Centre Street and Ravine Avenue. Both the small dog and its owner had to be treated for bite wounds after a nearby police officer managed to wrestle the attacking pit bull off its victims.
On March 25, 2016 another pit bull ran out of its home near Walnut Street and attacked a sleeping toddler being pushed in a stroller. The child’s wounds required more than 70 stitches, and she had to have extensive plastic surgery to her right leg.
Dog bites can cause serious permanent injuries. Dog owners must license their dogs and should keep them confined to a secure area so that they cannot access smaller dogs or children. If you or a loved one has suffered serious injuries in a dog attack, you may be entitled to compensation for any medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, or disability that resulted from the attack.
