New Jersey and Philadelphia Personal Injury Lawyers Report on Local Drunk Driving Arrest
December 12, 2014
Police officers in Berlin, New Jersey recently arrested a local man and charged him with driving under the influence (DUI) and a number of other traffic violations including reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, and driving with open containers of alcohol in a vehicle. The driver initially attracted the attention of patrol officers when he drove backwards down Maple Avenue and proceeded to turn onto North Cedar Avenue. Police were able to stop to the car as it pulled into a parking lot behind a Wawa on Franklin Avenue.
After approaching the vehicle, the officers discovered open containers of beer and liquor inside. The police were able to ascertain that that man’s driver’s license had already been suspended. The police officers administered a field sobriety test, which the driver failed, and they subsequently arrested him for DUI.
Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol puts the lives of passengers, other drivers, and pedestrians at risk. In this case the police were able to intercept a dangerous drunk driver before he caused harm or injury, but too often the damage is done before an arrest is made. Cherry Hill personal injury lawyers at DiTomaso Law urge all drivers to not drink and drive and call the police if you see someone driving erratically or if you suspect drunk driving.
