Over 50 Sickened by Bear Repellent at New Jersey Amazon Warehouse
December 05, 2018
Over 50 workers became sickened by a bear repellent at the Amazon warehouse in Robbinsville, New Jersey. On Wednesday morning, around 8:45am, a can of bear repellent was punctured by the automated machine and discharged in the building. Twenty-four workers received medical treatment at five local hospitals, and one worker is in critical condition. The remaining workers received treatment on site by first responders.
If equipment malfunctions at a job site, it could lead to injuries for the employees or even fatalities. Some industries witness more work accidents than others, and workers may be aware of the risks. This does not diminish the challenges an injured worker may face if they cannot work due to the injuries, which may require costly medical interventions.
